There is nothing quite as bad as dry lips, especially when you want to wear a lipstick or gloss. You’ll most likely end up with lumps of dry skin and texture underneath and that’s not a cute look. Whilst exfoliating is super important, keeping your lips hydrated with a balm is also a key contributor to soft lips, especially now that wearing masks is the norm. If you don’t know where to start, definitely take a look at these lifesavers:
Carmex Original Tube
Carmex is one of my all-time favourite lip balms. It’s long-lasting, hydrating and moisturising and the menthol gives a cooling effect. If you have a small budget, this is a good one to start with and you’ll find yourself not being able to put it down.
Dr. PAWPAW Original Clear Balm
If you haven’t heard of the infamous Dr.PAWPAW then you’ve definitely been living under the rock. This award-winning multipurpose balm is guaranteed to become one of your holy grails tackling all kinds of dryness. It’s cruelty-free, the ingredients are ethically sourced and the packaging is recyclable so what more could you want from a product!
Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
This classic product crafted in 1991 is a must-have. The Beeswax helps to condition your skin, the Vitamin E helps to moisturise and the hint of Peppermint Oil provides a refreshing tingle. This product is 100% natural so if this is something you look for when buying new products then this is a great balm to go for.
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume Lips
La Roche-Posay is an incredible skincare brand which has partnered with dermatologists to find the best ingredients for improving skin concerns. This lip treatment creates a physical and biological barrier to soothe and nourish the skin, preventing future chapping. It is fragrance-free, paraben-free, 100% hypoallergenic and you don’t have to keep applying it all day long for it to work!
Glossier Balm Dotcom
This is another amazing multi-purpose balm that will end up part of your permanent collection. It’s formulated with nature’s heavy-duty moisturisers: Castor Oil, Beeswax, and Lanolin and comes in various scents, flavours and tints so you have loads of choice! Its gorgeous minimalist packaging fits Glossier’s aesthetic perfectly and there’s no doubt you’ll be obsessed with these. They’re on the pricier side, but you get quite a lot of product and you only need a tiny bit for it to work wonders.
