Avocado, Aloe Vera and Olive Oil Face Mask
(Perfect for dry skin)
What you need:
- ½ an avocado, crushed
- 1 tsp of olive oil
- 1 tsp of aloe vera
The benefits:
Avocados are proven to have lots of benefits. Avocado oil is filled with Vitamin C and E, which work as antioxidants on the skin, and fatty acids help to moisturise and protect the skin’s barrier. Olive oil also helps with moisturising the skin as it draws moisture to the skin and seals it in. And last but not least, the aloe vera works wonders thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to reduce redness, puffiness and yet again, moisturises your skin. If you need an extreme hydration boost, this mask is definitely the one for you.
It’s important to properly mash the avocado up for this mask as it won’t stick to your face otherwise and you won’t get to experience the benefits of it!
Manuka Honey, Tumeric and Sea Salt Face Mask
(Perfect for fighting acne and blemishes)
What you need:
- 1 tbsp of manuka honey
- 1 tsp of turmeric
- ½ tsp of sea salt
The benefits:
Although manuka honey is on the pricier side, this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory product leaves fewer bacteria on the skin to infect pores and helps to reduce inflammation which is caused by acne. It also can help to balance your skin’s pH level to help get rid of dead skin cells keeping your skin extra clean. Turmeric has similar properties to this which is great for acne and provides your skin with a natural glow which everybody wants after they use a face mask. On top of this, sea salt helps to gently exfoliate the skin but also discourages the growth of bacteria for future breakouts and acne. So, if you struggle with your skin and find breakouts to be your major problem area, it’s worth giving this mask and try to see if it reduces them.
Lemon and Yoghurt Face Mask
(Perfect for oily skin)
What you need:
- 2 tbsp of natural yoghurt
- 2 tbsp of lemon juice
The benefits:
The citric acid in the lemon can help to neutralise and control the amount of oil released by the skin. On the other hand, the yoghurt consists of lactic acid which acts as a natural cleanser removing oil and dead skin cells which are a major cause of acne and breakouts. Use this mask once a week to help to reduce the amount of oil on your skin.
Egg, Honey and Lemon Face Mask
(Perfect for minimising enlarged pores)
What you need:
- 1 egg white
- 1 tbsp of honey
- A little squeeze of lemon juice
The benefits:
Egg whites are great for anti-ageing or anyone with large pores. They can help to tighten and firm the skin, help close up pores and also remove any build up inside them. The citric acid inside the lemon juice can help to breakdown dead skin cells which tend to lead to blackheads, so the combination of this with the egg whites reduces the visibility of pores and tightens the skin. It’s important to add some honey to this mask because it will help the skin to keep its moisture, despite the tightness the egg white and lemon juice causes.
